Photo Contest

Looking for striking photos that show the diversity of the PAMZ region!

Eligibility
The contest is open to all amateur photographers who reside or work in the PAMZ region. Photos must be from the PAMZ region. Staff and Board members of PAMZ are not eligible to enter the contest.

Entries and Identification
A maximum of three (3) entries per person. An entry form MUST be completed to enter. The entry forms are available online at www.pamz.org. 1st place ($200) and runner-up ($100) prizes will be awarded. Photos will be judged in the following 6 categories:

  1. Atmosphere (weather, sky, clouds, smoke & pollution events)
  2. Nature (scenery, ecosystems & wildlife)
  3. Urban (cities, towns & other municipal scenes)
  4. Industry (oil and gas/ petro-chemical, agriculture, forestry & other)
  5. People (individuals and families enjoying the environment)
  6. Youth (Photographers Under 18 years in age, competing in the first 5 categories)

PAMZ appreciates all entries, but only contest winners will be contacted.

Submission Specifications

  • Entries must be sent electronically as JPEGs individually (one photograph and one entry form per email). Printed photo entries will not be accepted.
  • Do NOT group entries in one email.
  • Each photographic file cannot exceed 6 MB.
  • Resolution – minimum of 300 dpi with a minimum of 1600 pixels wide for horizontal images or 1600 pixels for vertical images.

Do not digitally enhance or alter photos (beyond basics needed for realistic color balance and sharpness). Low resolution prints or digital files that cannot be reproduced in high quality will be disqualified. If people are in the photograph, model release forms are the responsibility of the entrant and must be submitted with all applicable photos. Entry forms are available online at www.pamz.org. Submissions will be judged based on composition and appropriateness to meet the categories.

Publication

  • Winners’ names and photographs may be used for PAMZ’s Annual Report.
  • PAMZ reserves the non-exclusive right to publish any entry and/or use any entry in promotional material.
